Have you been active within your community in Asgard? Have you hosted an event or built an establishment or otherwise contributed to the development of your district? Have you forged a meaningful relationship with your god? Has living in Asgard contributed to your development as a person in some way? Or has your presence in Asgard contributed to someone else's development as a person, whether it be by positive or negative means? There are many different ways to "qualify" for leveling up; the point is that we want to see true development in yourself, your god, or your world. We want to see how you are shaping Asgard, or how Asgard is shaping you. This investment is what strengthens the bond between you and your god, granting you access to greater levels of power. If you need help figuring out what this justification might look like for your character, please
contact us so we can guide you to your next level!
That said, there will be an
activity requirement and a
short written explanation of what your character has accomplished and developed here in Asgard. This doesn't need to be fancy or anything, we just really want to see your character getting something out of the game and being rewarded with some kickass new powers. As of right now, the level up requirements are as follows:
- Level Two:
- Activity Requirement: 50 comments with at least five different characters (5 comments minimum from your character per thread), each showing some type of "development" or "growth" as described above. You may use up to seven threads to meet the 50 comment requirement. All comments posted in-character on the network and log communities and IC inboxes are valid for these proofs. Threads may be from no longer than six months prior to your application. This should give you plenty of time to build upon a slow-burn development, such as projects that take a long time to complete or relationships that change over time. Show us something good or maybe even something bad happening to your character that has in some way pushed them to grow. Let us peep on some on some of your more meaningful threads!
- Written Requirement: write no less than five sentences describing your character's growth as a result of their actions or influence in Asgard. Are they happy? Are they scared? Has Asgard made them see something in a new light, or are they now focused on something drastically different than their home life? You can consider this a basic summary of what your character has done during their time in Asgard and how this may have affected them. This doesn't need to be very fancy or long, whatever you think is enough to show some small amount of development for your character.
- Level Three:
- Activity Requirements: 75 comments with at least three different characters (7 comments minimum from your character per thread), each showing a significant amount of "development" or "growth" for your character. You may use may use up to five threads to meet the 50 comment requirement. You may only reuse two of the same characters from your Level Two application, and you cannot reuse the same threads. All comments posted in-character on the network and log communities and IC inboxes are valid for these proofs. Threads may be from no longer than three months prior to your application. This is because we specifically want to see something profound happen for your character that affects them as a person in some way. Level Three is the "powerful" stage of your power, which means your bond with your god and/or your district is at its strongest. Why? What happened? What changed for them? What are they committed to now that they might not have been beforehand? What have they gained or lost that has shifted their outlook or priorities? We want to see deep character development and the threads where it all happened.
- Written Requirement: write no less than seven sentences describing the growth your character has gone through overall in Asgard. Build upon what you told us about in your Level Two application without reusing too much of the same information. Tell us about something your character influenced that has had a deep impact on either you, your god, or Asgard and Yggdrasil overall. How has your character's time in Asgard changed something on a profound level? Brag about it and let us soak in the awesomeness of your accomplishments. The major things we're looking for are 1) a major change in a character's personality or behaviour compared to them entering the game, 2) a way that your character has engaged with their Godhaus, and 3) a demonstration of their involvement with the setting in general (ie. magic, lore, major plot events, etc.)
When you're ready, copy the appropriate application below and
respond to your original comment from when you first requested your power. Put
CHARACTER NAME - LEVEL TWO/THREE APPLICATION in the title of your new comment. The mods will respond with
APPROVED/REVISIONS/REJECTED along with an explanation of our decision and additional comments. To be quite frank, we're more invested in you having fun than being super strict about this whole process, so don't be afraid of feeling like you need to meet a certain standard or anything. This is honestly just a way for you to show us that you're doing something fun in the game, and we want to reward you for that with some new magic tricks. It's really as simple as that! If you're ever uncertain, give us what you have and we'll work with you on it, and always feel free to
contact us directly for help.
RHYS STRONGFORK // TALES FROM THE BORDERLANDS
Character Name: Rhys Strongfork (
Canon: Tales From The Borderlands / Borderlands
School of Magic: Enchantment
Power Set Justification: Spells that "influence".
Power Set:
Level Two: CONFUSION: All creatures or people within a 10-foot-radius, unless they have resistance to mind control, will be affected. The creatures or people will act erratically, which could mean attacking someone or something random (could backfire and attack the caster), suddenly fleeing or wandering off in a random direction, or freezing on the spot and not doing anything.
Level Three: ANTIPATHY/SYMPATHY: If a creature or person doesn't have some kind of resistance to mind control, they'll be influenced into either antipathy or sympathy. Antipathy means the creature or person will get frightened by a certain person or creature and will go out of their way to avoid them. Sympathy will influence the creature or person to move towards another creature or person. If they are attacked by that creature or person, the effect may be dispelled.

❧ your god powers work as follows:
❧ what happens next.
All characters begin at Level One; see the above to learn how to level up your power. Remember that your ability to use magic is finite. You can only use your god powers a certain amount each day before your "battery" is considered drained, at which point you will feel physically weak and exhausted. Pushing yourself past this point will result in death. The amount of energy expended each time you use your power decreases as you level up.
At first level, consider yourselves capable of using your god power no more than roughly five times a day. The more you have to focus on maintaining the effects of a spell, the faster your "battery" will drain.
If you have any questions, even if you're in the middle of a thread and not sure about how to use your power, always feel free to contact a mod for help! Have fun with your new powers!

REVISIONS
We made these changes because D&D time does not translate well into DWRP time, and you would ordinarily only be able to cast these spells once or twice per day when you have reached the highest levels of the game. We want the god powers to be a little more versatile than this, but also not quite as overwhelmingly powerful. In the interest of adjusting for this, we have given almost every third level ability a mix of nerfing/buffing to get them on roughly even footing.
We apologize for the late alteration, and we appreciate your understanding as we muscle our way through our first round of adapting these powers for fair use. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns!
RHYS STRONGFORK - LEVEL TWO APPLICATION
Canon: Borderlands
Level Two Power: CONFUSION This spell assaults and twists creatures' minds, spawning delusions and provoking uncontrolled action. Choose a point within 90 feet of you: any creatures within 10 feet of that point who cannot resist the effects begin to behave erratically, such as walking in a random direction or forgetting what they were doing, for up to one hour.
Activity Requirement:
Second Proof: 7 comments - Oct 10 - Chizuru Yukimura (
Third Proof: 5 comments - Oct 27 - Reynír (
Fourth Proof: 12+ comments - Nov 29 - Klaus Hargreeves (
Fifth Proof: 7+ comments - Nov 10 - Isha Devan (
Written Requirement: So, first for the easy bit: Rhys has, with Odin's help, added new features to the bracelets to make life easier and better for himself and his fellow Wanderers. He's also about to start work on a database that will be accessible by natives of Asgard, to make storing information more efficient than writing books by hand to put in a library. (Sorry, Odin, your library is fabulous but it's just not the best.) Also working together with people to do this. Gasp.
That's pretty recent though, and ties into him coming to terms with the fact that he's apparently stuck here now. Still not happy about that, but I digress.
He was born in a universe where real friends and allies are very hard to come by and you can honestly never trust that people won't betray you for their own gain. This is just how things work. As such, he was very suspicious of anyone in Asgard, natives and Wanderers and gods alike. He still kind of is. BUT he's also learnt that there are people in Asgard who are willing to... kind of risk their own lives to protect him? Which is weird. Apparently, there are people here who actually know what loyalty is? Wild. He's also beginning to accept that he may care for and want to protect them in turn, which he feels he shouldn't but, oops, he slipped and fell into having a heart.
Aside from that, he's also started questioning a lot of things about his own worldview and his own life. Since he was a kid, he's known what he wanted in life. It's weird for him to now, as an adult, start to questioning what the hell he's been doing with his life and also started to seriously consider whether he really has to be a backstabbing asshole just because "that's the way it is" in the Borderlands-verse. Honestly, he's not enjoying this new identity crisis but apparently he's stuck with it! It's all Gaige and Klaus's fault.

❧ congratulations on reaching level two!
As your character continues to develop and form bonds of their own in Asgard, the more they can tap into the magic that tethers them here. This change is both gradual and instantaneous; one day, they will simply realize they are capable of more than they were beforehand.
Your god power has changed in the following ways:
- Suggestion now affects a creature for up to 30 minutes.
- You are capable of using this god power roughly 7 times a day.
Level Two❧ what happens next.

SPELL BUFFS
These are your new spells, which will be available immediately:
These buffs tie into our mini event for this month, but will be yours from here on out. You feel a surge within your body, inherently feeling more powerful and as if your fingers are tingling in anticipation, ready to test out your new capabilities.
Please feel free to ask any questions about the mechanics or spells if you have them!

A wall of water springs into existence at a point you choose within range. You can make the wall up to 300 feet long, 300 feet high, and 50 feet thick. But instead of having it be 300 feet high I can have it be like... 100-150 feet, maximum? Still impressively big but not crazy op?
REVISIONS
Level Three: Tsunami: A wall of water springs into existence at a point you can see within 300 feet of you. You can make the wall up to 100 feet long, 20 feet high, and 5 feet thick, and you can choose the shape it takes, though it must be one continuous shape. Any creatures caught within the area of the wall when it appears may try to escape; if they fail, they're caught within the water and will begin to drown. A creature caught in the wall can attempt to swim if they are strong enough to fight against the intense pressure of the water. The wall remains there for up to 5 minutes; alternatively, you can move the wall up to 50 feet in any direction, bludgeoning any nearby creatures with a massive wave and attempting to absorb them into the water, although doing so reduces the size of the wall and shortens the length of the spell by 1 minute each time it is moved.

Aymeric de Borel || Final Fantasy XIV
Character Name: Aymeric de Borel (
Canon: Final Fantasy XIV
School of Magic: Enchantment
Power Set Justification: Spells used to "order"/command.
Power Set:
Level Two: DOMINATE BEAST: A telepathic link with a creature within range. Can be used to command anything as long as it isn't to harm the creature itself as long as the creature is friendly. It can be used to actually attack others. The link is broken when one of the sides is unconscious, dead, out of range or there isn't any command in a certain time.
Level Three: MASS SUGGESTION: ( Just gonna use the description used on the power set sample )
