Have you been active within your community in Asgard? Have you hosted an event or built an establishment or otherwise contributed to the development of your district? Have you forged a meaningful relationship with your god? Has living in Asgard contributed to your development as a person in some way? Or has your presence in Asgard contributed to someone else's development as a person, whether it be by positive or negative means? There are many different ways to "qualify" for leveling up; the point is that we want to see true development in yourself, your god, or your world. We want to see how you are shaping Asgard, or how Asgard is shaping you. This investment is what strengthens the bond between you and your god, granting you access to greater levels of power. If you need help figuring out what this justification might look like for your character, please
contact us so we can guide you to your next level!
That said, there will be an
activity requirement and a
short written explanation of what your character has accomplished and developed here in Asgard. This doesn't need to be fancy or anything, we just really want to see your character getting something out of the game and being rewarded with some kickass new powers. As of right now, the level up requirements are as follows:
- Level Two:
- Activity Requirement: 50 comments with at least five different characters (5 comments minimum per thread), each showing some type of "development" or "growth" as described above. You may use up to seven threads to meet the 50 comment requirement. All comments posted in-character on the network and log communities and IC inboxes are valid for these proofs. Threads may be from no longer than six months prior to your application. This should give you plenty of time to build upon a slow-burn development, such as projects that take a long time to complete or relationships that change over time. Show us something good or maybe even something bad happening to your character that has in some way pushed them to grow. Let us peep on some on some of your more meaningful threads!
- Written Requirement: write no less than five sentences describing your character's growth as a result of their actions or influence in Asgard. Are they happy? Are they scared? Has Asgard made them see something in a new light, or are they now focused on something drastically different than their home life? You can consider this a basic summary of what your character has done during their time in Asgard and how this may have affected them. This doesn't need to be very fancy or long, whatever you think is enough to show some small amount of development for your character.
- Level Three:
- Activity Requirements: 75 comments with at least three different characters (7 comments minimum per thread), each showing a significant amount of "development" or "growth" for your character. You may use may use up to five threads to meet the 75 comment requirement. You may only reuse two of the same characters from your Level Two application, and you cannot reuse the same threads. All comments posted in-character on the network and log communities and IC inboxes are valid for these proofs. Threads may be from no longer than three months prior to your application. This is because we specifically want to see something profound happen for your character that affects them as a person in some way. Level Three is the "powerful" stage of your power, which means your bond with your god and/or your district is at its strongest. Why? What happened? What changed for them? What are they committed to now that they might not have been beforehand? What have they gained or lost that has shifted their outlook or priorities? We want to see deep character development and the threads where it all happened.
- Written Requirement: write no less than seven sentences describing the growth your character has gone through overall in Asgard. Build upon what you told us about in your Level Two application without reusing too much of the same information. Tell us about something your character influenced that has had a deep impact on either you, your god, or Asgard and Yggdrasil overall. How has your character's time in Asgard changed something on a profound level? Brag about it and let us soak in the awesomeness of your accomplishments. The major things we're looking for are 1) a major change in a character's personality or behaviour compared to them entering the game, 2) a way that your character has engaged with their Godhaus, and 3) a demonstration of their involvement with the setting in general (ie. magic, lore, major plot events, etc.)
When you're ready, copy the appropriate application below and
respond to your original comment from when you first requested your power. Put
CHARACTER NAME - LEVEL TWO/THREE APPLICATION in the title of your new comment. The mods will respond with
APPROVED/REVISIONS/REJECTED along with an explanation of our decision and additional comments. To be quite frank, we're more invested in you having fun than being super strict about this whole process, so don't be afraid of feeling like you need to meet a certain standard or anything. This is honestly just a way for you to show us that you're doing something fun in the game, and we want to reward you for that with some new magic tricks. It's really as simple as that! If you're ever uncertain, give us what you have and we'll work with you on it, and always feel free to
contact us directly for help.

❧ your god powers work as follows:
❧ what happens next.
All characters begin at Level One; see the above to learn how to level up your power. Remember that your ability to use magic is finite. You can only use your god powers a certain amount each day before your "battery" is considered drained, at which point you will feel physically weak and exhausted. Pushing yourself past this point will result in death. The amount of energy expended each time you use your power decreases as you level up.
At first level, consider yourselves capable of using your god power no more than roughly five times a day. The more you have to focus on maintaining the effects of a spell, the faster your "battery" will drain.
If you have any questions, even if you're in the middle of a thread and not sure about how to use your power, always feel free to contact a mod for help! Have fun with your new powers!

Lan Wangji | The Untamed
Character Name: Lan Wangji (
Canon: The Untamed
School of Magic: Evocation
Power Set Justification: I’ve chosen the “Radiant (I…..think?)” core for Lan Wanji’s spells. He is known as “Hanguang-Jun” or “Light-Bearing Lord” due to the gleam sometimes seen (with his old powers) off his sword as well as his pale, white-clad appearance. His personality is restrained and he rarely attacks first, and only fights when necessary and even then, fights cleanly and efficiently. He fights both with his sword, Bichen, and with his guqin (in this world, it currently only plays music). Each spell builds on offensive capability, although offensive or fighting capability is not his main goal.
Power Set:
Level Two: Blinding Smite: Lan Wangji would use one of his weapons (sword and guqin both if allowed) to send a flare of damaging, bright light to a particular target up to 50 feet away (made up that reach)
Level Three: Crown of Stars: Lan Wangji is able to create seven star-like orbs of light that circle his head and then fire out to one or multiple targets within 120 feet.

Character Name: Connor (
Canon: Detroit: Become Human
Power Set Justification: I tried to find skills that exemplified Connor's intended purpose, which is to be a useful assist. So these powers would make him effective to have on a team. All are some semblance of evocation spells which progress in difficulty. Let me know what you think?
Power Set:
Level Two: Overclock: This ability sharply improves the magical abilities of one person or object for a very short period of time. While in use, Connor burns through all his magic in order to maximize the effectiveness of the target. This allows the target to double their magical capabilities until his magic runs out. A long rest is required after its use, and fighting after use of this ability is impossible.
Level Three: Link: Connor can mentally link with one person of his choosing. He can use this ability to talk to his partner like a kind of telepathy, allowing them to share short memories, sensory information, and other data of their choosing for him to view or experience over a great distance. The link lasts for a maximum of 24 hours.
REVISIONS
Level One: Barrier: A barrier of magical force appears and protects you. The shield is only big enough to cover 1-2 humanoids, and vanishes after 10 minutes.
Level Two: Overclock: You touch one willing creature, which can include yourself; for the next 10 minutes, their magical abilities experience a boost in effectiveness. This spell can only be cast on up to three creatures at a time, and if you wish to change which attribute to boost, you must end the spell early and cast it again.
Level Three: Link: You forge a telepathic link among up to 10 willing creatures of your choice within 60 feet of you, psychically linking each creature to all the others for up to one hour. Until the spell ends, the targets can communicate telepathically through the bond. The communication starts to feel strained at 200 feet away from each other, with words getting choppy and difficult to interpret; moving more than 300 feet away from each other will result in the spell ending early.
Something to note about your powers is that they do get stronger as you go; when you hit level 2 and gain Overclock, Barrier will also get stronger, and when you hit level 3 and get Link, both Overclock and Barrier boost as well. As written, Overclock would likely only provide a small boost to either a time limit or range, i.e. using it to boost Barrier would allow it to protect a few more people, or make it last a bit longer instead. Once you hit level 3 though, it could be all of the above! So there's definitely room to grow and play.
I hope this makes sense! Please do let us know what you think; if you like them, we'll go ahead and make it official.
