❧ treat others the way they want to be treated.
Our version of the standard golden rule: be cognizant of others around you and take their perspective into consideration. Let people set their own boundaries and do your best to oblige by them. Be respectful, be kind, and be willing to accept that some people simply may not agree with you. Remember that IC actions do not reflect OOC opinions; the attitude of your characters should not reflect the way you treat each other as players. If a problem arises between you and another player, please contact a mod so we can help mediate the situation and take action if need be.

We also recognize that the players of our NPCs hold a certain amount of power within the game. We consider our NPC team to be helper mods that we have entrusted with these roles, so we expect them to play their characters fairly and without bias. You can find the rules and guidelines our team agreed to abide by to the best of their ability on the NPC rules page. If you are concerned about any member of our NPC team's behavior, whether in character or out of character, please contact us immediately so we can help mediate the situation.

Please note that Asgard Genesis does not operate on a strike system for behavior. If a severe case of bullying or harassment arises, we will issue an immediate ban at our discretion. We hope we won't have to do so, and we will always speak with players before enacting any final decisions, so please do let us know if you ever need our help. As the ancient Tibetan philosophy states: don't start none, won't be none. Let's work together so there won't be none.

❧ clearly label any "adult" content in your posts.
Asgard Genesis by its nature will not contain adult themes, but we do not prohibit playing out this type of content if you so choose. By joining this game, you agree to very clearly label any mention of graphic violence/rape/drug use/etc at the top of your logs and posts and place the entry itself under a cut. You must always ask permission first and respect any player's request to be left out of such plots, even if not mentioning it would stretch in-character portrayal. If you intend to play such content regularly, we highly recommend creating an opt-out post for players to inform you when they do not wish to engage with your content. The comfort and safety of our players is paramount: refusal to respect a player's wishes or retaliating against a player or their character for their request may result in an immediate ban from the game.

Similarly, by joining this game, you agree to read all labels and avoid content you might find triggering or upsetting. Just as we will not tolerate pushing adult themes onto an unwelcoming player, we also will not accept bullying or harassing a player for writing adult themes. See our first rule. Treat others the way they want to be treated. Respect our shared space here and communicate your boundaries clearly so everyone can get along. If an issue arises, such as content that is not labeled or harassment of any kind, please contact a mod immediately.

❧ no godmodding or infomodding someone else's character.
Do not assume control of another character's actions without express permission from their player. Do not assume knowledge about another character without express permission from their player. Basically, all of our rules so far are just asking you to please plot out stuff together to avoid any complications or discontent at all times. This is especially important for the usage of god powers on another PC; in exchange for more versatile powers, we expect you to work together and play fairly. We just want y'all to have fun.

In the interest of preventing such complications and opening up a consistent channel of communication for plotting, we will be requiring a mandatory permissions page in every character's journal. This doesn't have to be anything special, just somewhere where your fellow players can comment easily to discuss how a thread should play out. We really hope you have fun playing with these new powers, but we also hope you'll be willing to plan accordingly to make sure everyone is on the same page. We'll provide an easy form to post in your journal on the welcome page, if you choose to use it. Please contact a mod immediately if you have any trouble with this process or another player.

❧ you must stay active to stay in the game.
Every month, we will be requiring one of the following to pass AC:

ten comments in log format
fifteen comments in network format
a combination of five comments in log format and ten comments in network format.

All comments posted within the AC month count towards your overall activity, including comments on IC inboxes since they operate on the network. You may also use a thread on our monthly test drive meme for one of your AC proofs, as long as you provide at least one other thread set in the game. Activity checks will posted on the 1st of the month and close at 11:59PM on the last day of the month; you may submit your AC at any time in this period. We strongly advise that you track the !activity check tag in the OOC community so that you don't miss out!

❧ we don't believe in lateness.
On the tail end of the last rule, please remember that RL always trumps RP and late tags are perfectly acceptable. We've all got things that keep us busy, and quite frankly, this is a hobby that should be done in your spare time for funsies. Take your time, and please communicate with your fellow players if there is anything that might interfere with the timely completion of something important. We accept any IC comments timestamped in the current AC month, on any post that is up to two months old, as valid proofs for AC. We'll seriously backtag into forever. Lateness is an illusion.

❧ remember your basic RP etiquette:

no meta-gaming: you can't have your character know information about the game that has not been released in-character.
no fourth-walling: you can't have your character know information about another character's universe.
tag your posts: tag any posts you create or join with your character's name tag. We will create this for you when you are accepted to the game, and the tag will be listed in canon - givenname surname format.
