Rules

Follow the golden rule;
Remember to treat others as you'd like to be treated. Show your fellow players respect, and you'll get it in return. In other words, please play nice and avoid drama! If you are experiencing issues with a fellow player, politely inform one of your friendly neighborhood mods, and we will take it from there. We'll do our best to create a peaceful, welcoming environment for all of you, so we'd really appreciate it if you'd do your best to help!

Please note that we do not have a strike system for this rule. Bullying other players does subject you to ban without previous warning, though very few situations are serious enough to warrant an immediate ban. Please don't be afraid to come to the mods with issues, even if you need to contact one mod about another! Mods are not above any rule in this game, so don't ever be afraid to bring up the issue if someone on the team is doing something wrong. Your anonymity in complaining is assured where possible and asked for, and we will be as fair as possible to both sides of any conflict.

No fandom OCs or AUs will be accepted;
While both canon characters and OCs may be applied for, any fandom OCs or fandom AUs will not be accepted. This includes characters with previous game histories. To clarify, by "fandom AU", we mean one that you made up. Canon AUs are acceptable, provided that their background and/or personality is significantly different from the original. So Kingdom Hearts versions of Final Fantasy characters are acceptable, but TYL versions of Katekyo Hitman Reborn characters are not, and neither is your medieval AU of Dean Winchester.

Rate/Lock your posts appropriately;
Posts and logs containing excessive amounts of violence, gore or otherwise triggering material should be put under a cut and include a warning. Explicit sexual content should be locked, warned for, and may not be played by anyone under the age of 18. This is based on an honor system, so we will trust you to follow this rule and not lie about your age. However, if it comes to our knowledge that this rule has been violated, the player at fault will be removed from the game. There will be a Zero Tolerance policy on this rule.

Our policy on commonly triggering/highly controversial subjects is very simple. We do not police the content of threads in Asgard. If you would like to play situations of gore, abuse, drug use, rape, etc, you are allowed to do so. However, you must always comm lock and leave clear warnings for this content. If there is a warning, it's understood that those uncomfortable with the topic will not subject themselves to the threads containing it. You must also always, always ask permission and allow players to opt out of involvement with the subject, even if it means stretching ICness (in not having your victim character talk to an IC friend with a mun who is not comfortable, etc) or going otherwise out of your way. Pushing other players into playing these sorts of things or retaliating against them for declining to is an immediately ban-worthy offense. We will not tolerate that kind of harassment under any circumstances, though you will be given opportunity to explain any questionable behavior before decisions are made.

On the other hand, harassing and bullying players for playing something you don't like is also unacceptable. You are welcome to think something is not tastefully portrayed and to talk about/crit on the subject, but if it crosses the line to bullying it will be handled just like any other case of harassment regardless of what subject was being played out.

Opt-out posts;
Related to the above rule. If you are planning to play out a plot with triggering aspects, especially one that will have a long term place in the game we highly suggest having an opt-out post for those players not comfortable with being involved. This is not being enforced, however if someone requests for the subject not to be brought up with their characters you must adhere to this.

Stay active;
Activity checks will be held once a month. Players will be required to post 30 comments of activity over at least 3 posts. More details can be found on the actual AC posts. Additionally, our HMD is bi-monthly and mandatory. It starts a week before AC and runs until the first day of AC is over. Starting December 31 and continuing out through the end of the game, AC will require a check-in at the end of each month.

Follow common RP courtesies;
This is essentially your basic "no godmoding rule". Before you do anything significant to someone else's character, please contact their mun! Also, permissions posts should be used if your character has a "godmode" type of ability or any other habits that may require a lot of asking permission. Also, do be open to plotting with new people! Try to avoid being too insular with your existing friends/cast/CR and remember to be friendly OOCly.

Respect game policies;
There are a couple of sub-things here:
  • Keep the character limit in mind. You may have up to five characters at one time, with no more than one app per round. Characters from the same canon will be judged on a case-by-case basis, but if they'd need to interact, they will most likely not be allowed. If they are, you can have no more than two characters from one canon.

  • We have a cast cap of twenty-five characters, which means that once a canon has concurrent 25 characters in game, no more can apply. Any canon with more than 15 characters will be listed on the reserves page. We will not cap the number of reserves; however, if there are more applications in a round than available slots, acceptances will be given on a first come, first serve basis. This cap includes sequels or branch-off canons that are set within the same universe. If you feel an argument can be made for your series acting as a stand-alone canon, please contact us to discuss it!

  • Follow the tagging system. If you make a post in the network community, tag it with your character's name in givenname surname format. When replying to someone else's network post, you should also tag it with your character's tag. Logs should be tagged with the names of each participating character.

  • Make sure to follow all steps in the welcome notice. Include required posts in your journal, but feel free to customize their code and whatnot.
